BrightHouse Services Launches New tip411 Anonymous Tip System to Help Fight Physical, Emotional, and Sexual Abuse
HUTCHINSON, KS – May 3, 2023 – BrightHouse is releasing a new app to help combat physical, emotional, and sexual abuse by allowing survivors to connect with their services and submit anonymous tips from their smartphones.
Developed by tip411, the Bright KS app puts a powerful new tool into the hands of community members of all ages. The Bright KS app is available for download for free via the Google Play Store, iTunes App Store or on the BrightHouse website at https://www.brighthouseks.org.
“BrightHouse services keep survivors who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking safe through our crisis line, emergency shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy, and links to community resources,” said Sue Wray, Executive Director of BrightHouse. “We believe our new tip411 app and text-a-tip system will provide another way for people to reach out to access our services safely and confidentially.”
The new Bright KS app enables people to reach out and share an anonymous tip or reach out for help safely and lets BrightHouse staff respond back to create an anonymous two-way conversation.
“We’ve listened to feedback from partners like BrightHouse and have built a more advanced and innovative product to help them better engage with and serve survivors,” said tip411 President Terry Halsch. “The Bright KS app, powered by tip411, will greatly improve survivors’ access to services to help recover from assault.”
The BrightKS app and tip411 anonymous text a tip system are 100% anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before staff see the tips and there is no way to identify the sender.
Those without a smartphone can reach out and share information by sending an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting keyword LIGHT and their message/tip to 847411 (tip411). Anonymous web tips can also be submitted via the BrightHouse website at https://www.brighthouseks.org.
